Lutheran Retirement Village at Utz Terrace is nestled in the beautiful rolling farmland of York County just six miles from the Maryland border. Our 45-acre campus has the look and feel of a small town providing a seamless transition with the nearby town of Hanover.

Hanover was settled in 1730 and the downtown section of town includes many outstanding examples of early American architecture framed by tree-lined streets.

Nearly all shopping needs can be met with a short drive. Grocery stores, pharmacies and shopping centers are located nearby, as well as a variety of dining options.

Hanover Hospital, a full-service 106-bed community hospital affiliated with the Penn State Hershey Heart and Vascular Institute, is just minutes away.

The cities of Washington DC, Baltimore, Philadelphia and Harrisburg are all easy drives from Hanover. The historic towns of York and Gettysburg are less than an hour away.

Many colleges are conveniently located nearby. Gettysburg College, McDaniel College in Westminster, MD, the Gettysburg Campus of Harrisburg Area Community College, the Gettysburg Lutheran Theological Seminary and York College of Pennsylvania provide year-round educational opportunities and entertainment, athletic and cultural events. In addition, Hanover’s Eichelberger Performing Arts Center provides a full, year-round schedule of plays, musicals, and other live entertainment.

For outdoor activities, Gettysburg National Battlefield Park, Codorus State Park, and Catoctin Mountain Park are all easy drives and provide a multitude of hiking, fishing, boating, and biking opportunities.
