Lutheran Social Services of South Central Pennsylvania (LSS) recently recognized community leader Chloé Eichelberger with the prestigious 2012 LSS Cornerstone Award at the 9th Annual LSS Cornerstone Dinner.  The award recognizes the exceptional generosity of individuals in York County through direct charitable support, leadership and volunteer service.
This year’s Cornerstone Dinner raised a record setting $182,680. The net proceeds support LSS Community Outreach Services.  Last year Lutheran Social Services served more than 15,000 people, providing nearly $6 million in care to individuals who were unable to pay the full cost of the services they needed.
Celebrity guest speaker Chef Jeff Henderson of the Food Network spoke about the persistence and determination that helped him turn his life around after a decade of incarceration, eventually becoming the executive chef of Café Bellagio in Las Vegas and host of The Chef Jeff Project on the Food Network.  He offered words of hope to dinner attendees, saying it is never too late to change for the better.  Henderson met dinner attendees at a book signing which followed his inspirational speech.
