Q.    Who runs the Foundation?
A.    The Foundation is managed by an independent board of trustees comprised of area community leaders.

A.    Yes. The Foundation has its own 501 (c)(3) status with the IRS as a tax exempt organization. All gifts to LSS are tax-deductible.

Q.    What will the Foundation support?
A.    Donors may direct their gifts to a specific LSS program or service to provide care for individuals who do not have the resources to pay the cost of the care they need.

Q.    How will the fundraising efforts of the Foundation enhance LSS?
A.    These funds will make facilities, programs and services available that LSS could not otherwise afford to provide, as well as strengthen existing programs and services.

Q.    How do I donate to a specific LSS program or retirement community?
A.    Easy. All you need to do is make your check payable to LSS Foundation and note the program or community for which you would like to designate your donation.

Q.    Can I make a planned gift?
A.    Yes.  LSS accepts beneficial designations of life insurance policies and qualified retirement plans, bequests and gifts of assets transferred to the Foundation or a trust in exchange for current income.  Foundation staff also will assist you in establishing a life income gift such as a Charitable Gift Annuity or Charitable Trust.
