Cradled among the gentle rolling hills of southern York County, the Shrewsbury
Lutheran Retirement Village is a vital, growing continuing care retirement community
(CCRC) with much to offer. The Village lies at the gateway to a part of Pennsylvania
that is rich in fertile farmlands, pastoral scenery, diversified industry, and
historical landmarks.
Surrounding the Village are quaint antique and specialty shops, shopping centers
and professional services. There are also many churches, a library, and a YMCA
adjacent to the campus. Shrewsbury Lutheran Retirement Village is the only community
in southern York County and northern Maryland to provide a full continuum of residential
care for older adults.

RESIDENTIAL LIVING
 The residential living community offers private residences for people who desire
an active, independent lifestyle and opportunities for personal fulfillment. Enjoying
the comfort and privacy of your own home without the chores and maintenance, you
will be free to take advantage of the many social, recreational and educational
opportunities at the Village and in the surrounding community. You will also have
the security of round-the-clock emergency response and consultation.
Cottages
The cottage community offers private residences for people who desire an active,
independent lifestyle and opportunities for personal fulfillment. You will be
able to continue your life-long interests and hobbies and have opportunities to
learn some new ones. There is never a lack of things to do or people with whom
to share your interests. The choices are yours!

Amenities and Services
The monthly service fee for each residential living unit includes:
- Recreational programs and activities

- Appliance and systems repair
- Scheduled transportation for medical appointments
Also available on our campus are a bank, meal service in our attractive, comfortable
dining room at Zimmerman Place, beauty and barbershop services and 24-hour emergency
call system and consultation.

ASSISTED LIVING/PERSONAL CARE
 Shrewsbury Lutheran Retirement Village is pleased to offer Zimmerman Place; a
68-bed assisted living/personal care residence. Zimmerman Place offers services
for those who need assistance with activities of daily living, while still maintaining
an independent lifestyle. Assisted living/personal care provides food, shelter
and personal services or supervision for those who do not require skilled nursing
care. Many older adults need assistance with bathing, dressing, and other activities
of daily living. Assisted living/personal care personnel provide this assistance,
enabling individuals to remain as independent as possible.

SKILLED CARE CENTER
 At Shrewsbury Lutheran Retirement Village we are guided by a personal commitment
to create an environment in which the needs of our skilled care residents are
met with understanding, compassion and professional expertise. The Barbara J.
Egan Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is licensed by the Pennsylvania Department
of Health and is Medicare and Medicaid certified.
At the Barbara J. Egan Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, skilled professionals
provide around-the-clock, effective and compassionate health care. Whether you
need short-term rehabilitation or long-term nursing care, these services are available
to you at the Center.
The dedicated team of professional staff members is known for its skill and compassion.
The goal is to foster the greatest degree of independence possible, with respect
for residents’ dignity and sense of privacy. In the Egan center you will receive
exceptional health care services in a warm, comfortable, homelike setting.

STRASBURG HAUS
In partnership with the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Lutheran
Social Services of South Central Pennsylvania provides federally subsidized housing
for elderly and handicapped/disabled persons on our Shrewsbury campus. The Strasburg
Haus, a sixty-unit apartment complex operated by Shrewsbury Housing, Inc., serves
age and income qualified residents.
